Product Description

Bifidobacterium is a genus of gram-positive bacteria and is one of the most important flora in humans' intestinal environment. There are 24 species in the genus Bifidobacterium, and the common species are Bifidobacterium infantis (B. infantis), Bifidobacterium bifidum (B. bifidum), Bifidobacterium longum (B. longum), Bifidobacterium adolescentis (B. adolescentis) and Bifidobacterium breve (B. breve).

Among them, B. adolescentis is the dominant bacterium in the gastrointestinal tract of young people and has many beneficial effects on the human body. It is a kind of probiotic that mainly exists in people aged 16 to 45. It is found in the mouth, the gastrointestinal tract, the vagina and other luminal tissues. Colonization of the gut by B. adolescentis occurs immediately after birth, and quantities remain relatively stable until adulthood.

Health Benefits

A sufficient amount of B. adolescentis has various health benenfits, including but not limited to:

  • Regulating the balance of intestinal flora.
  • Producing lactic acid promotes gastrointestinal motility.
  • Synthesizing B vitamins and amino acids to promote digestion and absorption.
  • Breaking down lactose to ensure the effective absorption of lactose by the body.
  • Protecting cells from damage caused by carcinogens.
  • Antagonizing exogenous pathogenic bacteria so that they cannot colonize the intestinal tract.
  • Protecting human liver and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular.
  • Improving immunity.

Uses

B. adolescentis is a member of the genus Bifidobacterium, and its uses are listed below.

  • Probiotic yogurt

Fermented yogurt is the most common application of bifidobacteria in industrialization. Using Bifidobacterium strains for fermentation can produce yogurt with high nutritional value and unique flavor.

  • Probiotic juice drink

It is a novel probiotic drink made from bifidobacteria. As a well-accepted functional drink, these probiotic juice beverages are a good source of fiber and minerals, and can meet the needs of people with lactose intolerance as well.

  • Synbiotic preparations

Synbiotic preparations can be applied as dietary supplements and have a positive effect on the restoration and maintenance of colonic microflora. Bifidofactors are functional oligosaccharides that are beneficial to the growth and reproduction of bifidobacteria in the gut. It is more efficient to combine bifidobacteria and bifidofactors as a synbiotic preparation than to use probiotics or prebiotics alone.
